Getting to Know Rancho Pico Students

Jason Eskildsen

Get to know Jason. He is a well-rounded, eleven-year-old, Trailblazer, who will be celebrating his birthday on November 1st. He comes from a big family with 6 siblings and two cats.  Jason enjoys listening to Ricky Martin and watching TV shows such as Myth Busters and Brain Games. He excels at math and wants to start a video game club at our school. Like most of us, his proudest moment was graduating sixth grade; however, he was nervous about entering Jr. High. Working hard on his goals and doing his best are the top priorities in his life. Jason always reminds himself, “You have to think big in order to get big.” He hopes that his hard work will one day pay off when he owns a successful business empire after majoring in business and engineering. If Jason could have any super power it would be the power to shape shift. He says that if he could dine with anyone it be an alien. They would enjoy comparing their favorite foods like milk, cheese, and his mom's secret recipe for Boston chocolate pie with coffee and mint chip ice cream blended into a shake with caramel cubes and chocolate chips. Fall is Jason’s favorite time of the year because Halloween and Christmas are right around the corner.

We are so fortunate to have someone like Jason at our school. He dreams big, studies hard, and would be a great person to get to know.

Meet Mariah. She is an eighth grader on the team Quest, and will be turning fourteen in December. She is close with her two siblings, Kennedy (3) and Dylan (16). She looks up to her parents and in her spare time you can find her with her cheer team, shopping, or hanging out with friends. Mariah is an SCV cheerleader and her proudest moment was landing her first round-off back handspring and being featured in a cheer routine. Her scariest moment, also involving cheer, was when she fell out of a stunt and landed on three teammates. Her favorite subject is English, and her goals for this year are to get good grades and have fun doing it. On the way to being a famous celebrity, Mariah would love to cheer for college football. In the meantime, grab a bag of chips, a bottle of root beer or Dr. Pepper, and enjoy an episode of “Dance Moms,” Mariah’s favorite TV show. An ideal night out with friends would include a dinner at Buca Di Beppo, a movie, and a trip to Rita’s to conclude the night. Mariah’s favorite quote is, “Don’t worry, be happy,” and she certainly lives by that motto. You should certainly take the time to get to know Mariah.
